Dinner marks Penn Dutch Day honors at Hershey school
Over 40 attendees braved snow and ice for a Hershey Evening School Pennsylvanian Dutch class dinner at the new Derry Township elementary. Certificates were awarded by Raymon F. Evans. honored members include Dissinger Flory and Rhoads. The group outlined eighth annual Dutch Days plans and chose Milton S. Hershey as the first dedication honoree for future souvenir booklets.

Dedication Set for New St. Joan of Arc Convent
A new two story brick convent with Indiana limestone trim at St. Joan of Arc Parish will be dedicated on Sunday April 8 with Bishop George L Leech and Auxiliary Bishop-Designate Lawrence F Schott delivering the sermon. The $135000 building includes fifteen bedrooms a community room chapel dining facilities a large basement kindergarten and will house the sisters and teachers joining the parish.

Hershey High Band to perform in Cherry Blossom Parade
Hershey High School’s 85 piece band will join the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington D C on Saturday April 4. The Hershey Band Parents Association will help fund the trip and several buses will be chartered to transport the students to the festival.

Optimist Club To Sponsor 2nd Annual Bicycle Event
The Hershey Optimist Club announces the second annual Bicycle Safety Program for April 14 at Hershey High School playground plaza with a rain date the next Saturday. Registration starts at 9 a.m. for two wheel bike owners, with safety emblems and a ticket draw for a new bicycle. Over 500 local youths are expected to participate in drills and enjoy entertainment by a ventriloquist and a movie, while police recovery efforts benefit from registrations and a prize drawing led by Hershey Estates president John Sollenberger.
