In Hershey Chocolate Corporation plant the three blacksmiths George Shorty Shepler George Muntz and Harvey S Walmer work in the machine shop. They handle raw iron jobs temper and dress cutting tools and tool dressing for mill work. Walmer has led tool dressing for 18 years and Walman is a 33 year blacksmith veteran at the plant.

Longtime Palmyra Blacksmith Nearing Fifty Years as Craftsman
Walmer, residing at 30 North Railroad Street in Palmyra, grew up on a Lebanon County farm and loved mechanical work. His two sons Albert and Robert work at Hershey, following him into metal crafts as a machinist and tinsmith. The family spends spare time at a Sullivan County mountain cottage with two gardens. Shorty Shepler has practiced blacksmithing for 48 years, beginning with his father.
