Friends and family schedule a candlelight vigil and 7:25 AM flag lowering at NEHS to mark the one year anniversary of two former students deaths after a fatal car wreck. Trashfest ends in rain as hats return to sender

Trashfest 25th anniversary drew about 270 participants despite cold rain in New Braunfels. A Santa hat found in the Comal River was dried and mailed back to the North Pole, with 1,801 pounds of trash collected including 7,316 cups bottles and cans and 88 shoes.
