Comal County seeks TNRCC review of new sewage rules
Comal County commissioners voted to send stricter on site sewage disposal regulations to the Texas Natural Resources Conservation Commission for approval before adoption. The rules would raise minimum lot sizes to one acre for subdivisions with public water and 5.01 acres for private water users in unincorporated areas. If approved, the changes could be enacted within 30 to 60 days. The plan ties platting to water availability and aims to protect aquifers, schools, and infrastructure amid growth concerns.
