Garden thrives at Fire Station 3 with community pride
Firefighters at Station No 3 maintain a vegetable and fruit garden behind the Hanz Drive station. Clarance Wesch notes the project grew from fruit trees donated by Otto Locke and now spans all three shifts, producing cucumbers, beans, peppers, tomatoes, and many fruits. The gardeners balance duty with cultivation, sharing excess produce and taking pride in a station that looks inviting to passersby.
