Shultz Returns Home Without Summit Date From Talks
Secretary of State George P. Shultz said after a six hour session with Soviet Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko there is no set time or place for a U S Soviet summit. The two sides may meet in New York during the United Nations General Assembly in September. Shultz held breakfast talks with West German French Italian and British foreign ministers and discussed resuming arms control talks plus space defense issues. Tass reported Gromyko urged a moratorium on space weapons and warned progress in Geneva depends on strict adherence to prior agreements.

Papal tour proceeds to Luxembourg amid Catholic support
Pope John Paul II moved from the Netherlands to Luxembourg for a 32hour visit. He urged that Christian belief counters modern anxiety, spoke in multiple languages, greeted by Grand Duke Jean, and planned Mass for workers and immigrants outside a steel plant. He noted Luxembourg's Catholic majority and multilingual society while preparing to continue to Belgium.
