Kitchen van destroyed in rollover on I 35

A San Antonio couple lost their new livelihood Friday when their truck and trailer flipped on southbound I-35. Winds and a passing 18 wheeler caused the crash. William and Young Hui Hiett were injured but not life threatening. the trailer was destroyed and no charges were filed.

Expansion at Balcones Plant promises state leading efficiency

CEMEX officials estimate a $250 million expansion at the Balcones plant will add 750 construction jobs and 50 permanent positions by May 2008. The project is expected to boost the local economy by about 46 million dollars through indirect employment and increased tax revenue, with no extra county costs for utilities or emergency services. Perez notes demand for engineers and skilled workers alongside hourly labor.
