River committee kept as council backs larger tubes on river
The council unanimously allowed five foot diameter river tubes and set a two tube per person limit on the Comal River. The proposed one tube per swimmer rule was rejected. The panel urged life jackets for young children and weak swimmers on the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers within city bounds. A motion to disband the River Activities Committee failed. the mayor suggested a post Labor Day pause.
