City to decide on $18.1 million utilities bonds vote
New Braunfels City Council faces two options for the 18.1 million utility revenue bonds. A public referendum is possible or approval by notice of intent from 1982 for 3.2 million. Mayor Barbara Tieken favors a public vote, voiced May 23 to Utilities trustees. The proposal allocates 5.08M electric, 4.07M water, 5.81M sewer, 2.52M wastewater, and 582,500 general. The agenda also covers Humane Society funding, a 1985-1986 budget with 10 new staff and 16 police cars, and a 500,000 addition to a four-field softball complex proposal.
