Longtime CISD tax chief and wife celebrate 25 years
Neuse Jr and Ruby Neuse marked a silver work anniversary at the Comal ISD Tax Office. They began in 1960 under M H Specht, moved offices several times, and grew staff from 19 to seven. CISD plans to replace them by 1987 as district policy bars spousal supervision.

Canyon High student wins state model rocket award
Darin Gustafson of Canyon High School won first place for his model rocket and took Best in Class at the state Industrial Arts meet, where he also earned a third in metals testing. He was among three CHS students. Mark Ferguson took second in technical drafting, and Brian Row earned second and third in woodworking. Sponsors are Paul Kocian and Joe Hocker.

NBISD Budget on Agenda for 1985 86 Meeting
New Braunfels ISD trustees meet at 7 30 tonight in the New Braunfels High School library to adopt the budget and tax rate for 1985 86. An executive session will cover personnel, resignations retirements leaves of absence and new hires. The board previously held a public hearing Monday required when the tax rate rises more than 3 percent. The proposed tax rate is 1 0475 per 100 valuation, a more than 10 percent increase from last year’s 0 945.
