Court upholds neutrality on school moment of silence
The Supreme Court ruled 6 to 3 that public schools may not frame a daily moment of silence as an opportunity for prayer. The decision upholds church-state neutrality and leaves room for silent prayer as a voluntary personal act during the moment, rejecting state endorsement of organized prayer.
