Cold MLK parade draws thousands in San Antonio
Texans braved frigid weather to mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day with large San Antonio crowds on the 20th anniversary of the city sponsored march. Police estimated about 15,000 participants, well below last year’s 100,000. Dallas and Houston held parades as Austin and Fort Worth canceled icing festivals. Veterans and local officials praised the turnout despite cold rain and highlighted King’s legacy.
