A Laredo man, Arturo Gonzalez, 38, was hit by two vehicles on Interstate 35 near the Bueckle Road exit while darting into northbound traffic. He remained in critical but stable condition after being taken to Brooke Army Medical Center. Investigators say witnesses saw him bolt into traffic and they are determining if the act was intentional.

About 2100 students attend private schools in San Antonio via James Leininger Horizon Program set to end in 2008. Roughly 2000 parents and advocates rallied at the Texas Capitol to press lawmakers for school choice.
Thousands rally for school vouchers at the Texas Capitol in Austin praising the Hori zon Program a $50 million effort by San Antonio based Nathan Macias. The program allows parents of San Antonio students to move from public to private schools and ends next year with no renewal planned by the San Antonio physician. District 73 Rep Nathan Macias declined further comment.
