Manitowoc County reports an eighth traffic fatality of the year as 22 year old Kenneth Skrepenski of 511 N 44th St was killed on Highway 141 near Francis Creek after being struck by a southbound car driven by 47 year old William C Wester. Skrepenski sustained leg injuries and was knocked into the west ditch.
A masked man armed with a knife robbed the Waverly Hotel at 11 40 a m on Friday grabbing the cash box. He is described as 5 11 to 6 0 tall 150 to 160 pounds with sideburns mustache wearing a gold plaid jacket blue jeans and a red ski cap and mask leaving in a dark green 1968 Pontiac after fleeing on East Street past Neshotah Park. Authorities seek witnesses and further details.
