Pact May End Strike At Trans World Airlines
Washington AP negotiators for Trans World Airlines and its striking stewardesses have reached a tentative agreement that could end the six week walkout and allow the airline to operate by Christmas. If ratified next week by 5,062 flight attendants, the deal would end a long labor dispute that led to a shutdown and disrupted holiday travel. The union sought higher wages and better conditions, while TWA proposed a three year contract with smaller raises. details were not released. Ratification is expected Tuesday with negotiators recommending acceptance.
