Scotland Visit Brings Praises and Homesick Reflections
Alex Lindsay shares observations from a visit to Auld Scotland, contrasting Scottish farming methods with Western Oregon life. He praises field layouts, rock and lime barns, and sturdy harness, notes Clydesdale horses, and recalls a brusque reception near the Statue of Liberty. He expects to return to Oregon and values Scottish efficiency in fattening cattle and garden produce.
