A large crowd celebrated with streets decorated in national colors and a grand pavilion. The morning program featured music, prayers, and speeches led by Rev. James and T. J. Mahoney. Bogus Checks Arrest of Frank P. Wellman in Hamilton
Frank P. Wellman of Hamilton was arrested on a warrant from Prairie City charging obtaining money under false pretenses. C M Clay, a horse buyer, shipped nine carloads of horses bought in Grant county near Dayville. The animals were driven in Sunday and held at Heppner yards until Tuesday morning due to car delays. The shipment was sent to St Louis.
