Reception Held for Pastor Dusenberry at Presbyterian Church
Friday evening a cordial reception at the Presbyterian church parlors welcomed Rev Dusenberry and his family. Guests, led by J A Williams, heard humorous anecdotes and speeches celebrating the new pastor’s role in community life. The event featured music from the orchestra, coffee and cream puffs, and a singing of America.

Man Killed on Rock Island Train Near Putnam
A young man with a Rock Island ticket bound for Peoria was found dead last Thursday morning on the Peoria branch at Wheeler bridge near Putnam. Inquest ruled death from being knocked from a moving train. Identified as Benjamin Hamerly of Davenport after inquiries by Rock Island and Peoria authorities. Funeral held in Rock Island with interment at Oakdale Cemetery Davenport.
