City of Isaory to Be Rehomed for Hennepin Canal Transport

The Dixon and Rock River Transportation Co plans to operate on the new Hennepin canal and will purchase canal boats. The steamer City of Isaory, built by Marge Nicholson and previously owned by Captain Hawley, was bought by N B Shonts and used for grain transport. The boat, currently in poor repair, is expected to be dry docked at Wallace yard and possibly renamed Tom and Jerry in honor of Congressmen Henderson and Murphy.

Bradford Hazing Case Brings $14,000 Verdict At Toulon

In Stark County circuit court Judge Worthington presided as five of seven defendants faced a hazing incident that left Charles Stoner crippled for life. Arley Harwood Francis Long Earl Howe Frank Lattin Francis Real Arthur Pilgrim and Frank Sharkey were named, with Pilgrim and Sharkey abroad. The jury awarded $14,000 damages to Stoner against the five present, while two others fled the state. Officers pursue Pilgrim in California and Sharkey in Chicago as further suits remain on the docket.

Anna L Noll to be interred at Calvary cemetery

Miss Anna L Noll daughter of Mr and Mrs Theodore Noll of Henry dies after a stroke in Chicago while visiting relatives. The Rock Island train at 11 47 a m tomorrow will carry her remains from Henry station to Calvary cemetery for Catholic burial. She was born May 4 1868 in Henry and was 39 years six months and twenty six days old. She trained as a nurse in New York City and returned home for recuperation and rest. Her parents six brothers and three sisters mourn her loss.
