Louis Henry born near Putnam Illinois and married Henrietta Seichter July 1898 mother of Martha C Otto J Hilda M Clara Otto P. Louis died after tuberculosis illness and quarantine. He was a Western Catholic Union and Sacred Heart Society member with funeral at St Marys cemetery.

Foot and Mouth Disease Infects Local Cattle
The Fairbanks herd in Varna is the county's only known U S infected cattle. Two load lots of two year old steers bought in Chicago are culled and buried after state and federal inspections. A trench seven feet deep six feet wide and long enough for 15 cubic feet per animal will be dug with quick lime. Further precautions aim to protect nearby herds while the infected cattle are disposed of.
