Henry Woman's Club Meets in Full Session at President Elects Home
The Henry Woman's Club met in full session May 7 at the home of president elect Mrs Charlotte Sparling with President Mrs Clift presiding. Miss Ryan presented a paper on domestic science and arts with Miss Disoway reporting favorably on a petition to the city council for a curfew and improvements. Mrs Hendrick reported on the District Federation and 78 delegates attended. The program featured a Bible women theme led by Miss Belle Evans, a sacred reading by the president, and a double quartet closing. The group adjourned to meet in two weeks at Mrs J Townsend’s home.

Acetylene lamp explosion claims life in Richland Township
At the Kamp residence near La Rose and Lacon, an acetylene lighting plant caused a basement fire after a gas leak. Miss Margaret Kamp died from burns the next morning after her clothes ignited. The blast wrecked the lower floor. a daughter, May, was tossed from a parlor stool but survived. Neighbors aided Margaret as flames were fought. funeral set for Tuesday in Lacon.

Thomas Reilly of Camp Grove, 39, died after three operations for appendicitis gall stones and intestinal troubles at Proctor hospital Peoria. A native of Marshall County he leaves a widow Bridget Fagan and six of eight children. Funeral held at Camp Grove Catholic church with a large turnout and solemn rites, procession to cemetery.
