Women of Henry county form a Red Cross chapter in the Opera House, with Mrs. George Zeller of Peoria outlining the scope and work. Mrs. Marla Hunt elected chairman and Mrs. Arthur Smith secretary pro tem. 20 members paid dues, and a permanent chapter is to be organized tomorrow afternoon.

Mrs Anna Cutler Hall directed. Proudfit orchestra provided music. Special piano numbers and folk dances drew applause. proceeds were about $90.

PTA Meeting Closes Year With Entertainment Plans
The Parent-Teacher Association held its final meeting of the year in the high school room in May 83, with Mrs. Helper presiding. A student entertainment was praised, a rising vote of thanks to teachers was moved, and a committee was set to arrange medical inspection before school close. Committees for playground equipment and next year’s program were appointed, and a paper on motherhood and higher education was read by Mrs. King.

The Marshall County Bankers association held its annual meeting at the Commercial club room last Friday with officers elected for the year. Attending bankers represented First National Lacon, Lacon State, Marshal County State Varna, La Rose National, Henry National, and First National Henry. L. R. Phillips was named chairman, R. D. McCulloch vice chairman, and J. L. Jones secretary. After adjournment, members went to Hayes restaurant for a 6 o'clock dinner.
