Ed Harvey of Lacon was fatally electrocuted when a spool of wire being reeled during a Public Service Co project near the La con Sparland dike bridged a high tension 8000 volt line. He fell from the wagon after contact with energized wire while four doctors tried to save him. Harvey left a wife and seven children. The incident also shocked the accompanying driver and burned his neck and fingers.
