Water Rise Fares Illinois River Boom For Lacon Area
The river floods push river trade disruption across the region. Lacon bridge traffic halted as water covers the pike between Sparland and Lacon. West side trade to Henry’s gains while Lacon’s losses loom with farming and spring supplies delayed. A Walnut Grove club house opens and locals note peculiar coal theft with 85 cents found at the door.
