Death at Henry restaurant ends recluse’s life

Hon Joel W Hopkins a Putnam County pioneer and banker died at his Granville IL home Sunday Feb 16 1902 aged about 80 He served as County Judge General Assembly member State Board of Agriculture and Republican National Convention delegate He led farms and banks and left a large estate His funeral was at home with Rev Mr Bissell conducting services and tributes from friends and family praising his church support and public service
