New Fishing Law Tightens Rules On Nets And Seasons
A new Illinois fishing law set to take effect after July 1 imposes license fees for hoop nets and nets, restricts netting seasons, bans certain species from sale during portions of the year, and requires nets to bear visible tags. Licenses are issued by county, city, or village clerks and enforcement will target illegal fishing with motorboats patrolling Illinois waters.
