At about 9 pm Tuesday a fire alarm rang for L A Meier’s Carroll street residence. Prompt neighbor action and quick fire crew return prevented disaster as a burning lamp in a brass lamp ignited a lounge and carpet. Damage estimated at seventy five dollars. house and furniture insured.

The bride, educated in Henry schools and Dixon College, and the groom, a Pacific Telephone employee, were described as well matched and ready to start their home. Newman traveled from Henry to Carroll Iowa, then to Pomeroy arriving May 27 at 2 30 pm.
