Decoration Day Observed by Henry River Ceremony
The Decoration Day events at Henry featured a 1:30 pm procession led by a cornet band from the American Show Boat company, Civil War veterans carrying Old Glory, and Women’s Relief Corps members. The program on the riverbank included prayers, poems such as The Blue and the Gray, and remarks by Rev. Griscel, honoring fallen officers and seamen and paying tribute to the Grand Army of the Republic.
