Law bound over for trial in toy car death case
R D Law who drove the red toy car that caused Humphrey’s death at Seatonville appeared at a preliminary hearing before the police magistrate in Princeton last week. He was bound over to the grand jury under $10,000 bonds, furnished by relatives, on a charge of manslaughter after a coroner’s jury recommended criminal negligence. State’s Attorney C N Hollerich could not find a statute for criminal negligence and thus pursued manslaughter to avoid a technical escape. Law waived examination and remains free on bond until the next grand jury term.
