Magnolia Magnolia Club Notes and Local Happenings
The Magnolia Department Thursday Afternoon Club met January 2 at Miss Margaret Lackland's home with eighteen members present. Members sold most of the spoons engraved with our new schoolhouse, and resolutions urged attendance. Reports featured "Black Hawk and His War" and "The Struggle Against Slavery" with expected guests and several new discussions planned for January 15. Socializing followed the program and several local residents were noted as guests and visitors in ensuing paragraphs.
