An argument erupts when the elder man’s reaction drives the youth to draw a revolver, resulting in the old man’s death and the youth's disappearance.
Three days last week feature snow and sleighing as farm life continues. The community mourns Ed Leigh suddenly, while Christmas Eve at the Cantor ends with a crowded church and generous gifts. Rev Seaman receives a Bible commentary, Rev Houston speaks, and school presents praise. Home talent includes Annioanco’s prayer recited and songs by Allie Powell and a duet by Anna Hoot and Clare Woods.

Henry Trendt won the prize woblet in a contest between Chas Nitzypatrick and Miss Mollie Patton with Hanry Trendt and Miss Ida Grenner as judges. About $2 couples attended. another dance is planned this month. A New Year Greeting at the Congregational church featured five year old Millie Baxandale reciting. The M E church officers for the year include Superintendent Rev J W Denning and others. The Breyer comedy company performed in Hannapin with Kathleen Mavoucneen and Lettie Poster drawing crowds. Week of prayer and human exercises at the two churches noted.

A sober Snachwine town note reports Mr W Kelso taking full possession of the post on January 1 amid general satisfaction. Christmas and New Year’s were quiet.
