Red Cross Adds Four Members to Henry Chapter Total 770
Four new names were added to the Henry Red Cross list bringing the total to 770. A large workshop meeting saw nearly fifty present as 110 bandages were completed and 446 surgical dressings were made. Mrs Grieves was absent but the workshop carried on. Mrs Hunt shipped knitted goods including sweaters helmets socks wristlets and trench caps. The sweater yarn was distributed at the workshop. Stephen Appet tires in critical condition at home after pneumonia.
Lincoln's Birthday Memorial Exercises At High School
Sophomores hosted a patriotic program with songs readings and a debate on Heatless Mondays. Edna Gray read Lincoln biography, Mayella Peterman recited My Captain, Mildred Dunn read Gettysburg Address, Marle Smith led current events on World War entry.
