Christmas Day Reverence and Santa Claus Debate
A Henry Republican essay urges Christians to honor Christmas solely as the birth of Christ, condemning Santa Claus as a pagan distraction. The piece contrasts church traditions across denominations and urges abandonment of secular customs to preserve the sacred meaning. It notes Henry public school founder Samuel Parker and mentions Maine historian Prof Stetson and Illinois political figure Frank J Quinn as local references.
