James Theodore Locke longtime resident dies in Grantsburg
James Theodore Locke aged 68 who was born in New York City on May 1 1847 died November 23 in Grantsburg Wisconsin after moving from Long Lake township Minnesota three years ago. He married Missouri Falls in 1878 and Edna Bullis in 1891. He leaves several children and relatives including son John Locke in Wenona IL and James Howes Locke in Tuttle Falls. He was known as Honest Jim and his funeral was marked by neighbors and a Methodist choir visit.

Newton Ray born Aug 6 1849 near West Virginia moved to Saratoga township Ohio county as a youth. He enlisted in the 86th Illinois Infantry and was wounded at Bentonville. He married Frances Diverbiss in 1870 and left two children. The family moved to Peoria in 1897 and he died Dec 18. The funeral was held in Peoria.

A letter from W W Shoup of Dayton Ohio informs Miss Mary Ann Green of the death of Col B F Shoup on Friday December 3 at a very advanced age. He spent forty years as a railway conductor, lived in Dayton, retired to Henry and later resided with his brother for about fifteen years, contributing to The Henry Republican editorial rooms. He was a courtly, dignified gentleman and longtime Episcopal church worker, Senior Warden of St Johns. His funeral was held Tuesday December 7 at Dayton cemetery.
