Red Cross Christmas Seals Fund Drive Featured by Illinois Club
The Republican Thursday Afternoon Club met December 4 at Mrs. Isabelle Allen’s home with vice president Ivah Franklin presiding. Members discussed sponsoring the sale of Red Cross Christmas seals to aid tuberculosis prevention and planned ordering a thousand stamps. A survey of Illinois tuberculosis impact is planned to begin January 1 1914, with follow ups through 1916. The program included papers on Illinois fauna flora and Henri de Tonty, plus performances by Mrs. Ivah Franklin and Mrs. Lera Skelton, and a social with tea. The group adjourned to meet again in two weeks.
