The Peru Stars were blanked 2-0 by Henry on the home diamond. Newsam homered in deep center but Peru failed to score after the first inning, as Henry pitchers and defense shut down the visitors and drew cheers from 300 fans.

Otto Hoscheit and Miss Julia Spohr were married at 9 o clock in St Joseph's church. Rev Adolph officiated. The bride and groom's families and friends gathered for the ceremony in Peru. The couple plan to reside in Peru for a time before moving to Wisconsin.

William Salisbury Sr. Dies at 84 After Long Illness
William Salisbury Sr aged 84 years 1 month 2 days died after months of paralysis and speech loss. Born in Shropshire England July 9 1826 he immigrated to America in 1865 settling in Lacon then Saratoga township later moving to Henry. He married Margaret J. Jacobs in 1864 and had nine children and 26 grandchildren. An active farmer and Republican school director for 21 years and road commissioner 11 years, he and his wife were members of the M E church. Funeral services were held at Saratoga M E church with Rev R L Vivian presiding.
