A derailment on the Toledo Walhending Valley Ohio railway branch near Richeson's gravel pit 6 miles north of Coshocton killed six workers and seriously injured fifteen. The accident occurred as a construction train hauling gravel entered the pit siding with the switch open, causing a collision that buried workers beneath debris. The victims include Frank Ioll, William Rafferty, John Barry, Joseph Bycroft, John Hulliger, and Jub Milan. The men were employed by McArthur Brothers contractors and were awaiting boarding at the camp when the crash happened.
