An assortment of midwestern classified items lists W. W. Dewey selling meats at top prices, plus J A Swem as physician and surgeon with a Henry city office and Main Street residence. DK bk A Hall, physician, touts electrical treatment equipment and 24 hour call service, Edward Street office.
Dr Carrie Weatherly an osteopathic physician offers acute and chronic care with special attention to diseases of women and children. Treatments available at the home office on the east side of Main street one block north of Central Park. Calls answered day or night. Phone 251.
Magnolia notes report illness and gradual recovery for H J Bishop, visits by Mrs H E Dean and Prof Davis, roof and chimney work for Nan Guinea, and Sunday visits by George Morphew and Grace Griffin. Obits recall Mrs Fannie Bishop and Mrs Chauncey Lucas, a cement walk project for the depot, and the T A C meeting with programs and subscriptions.
A Henry citizen L Carrier ship builder River Street testifies Doan's Kidney Pills cured his backache from weak kidneys over five to six years. A 1915 statement from Garriet notes renewed faith in the remedy for kidney complaints after colds. Doan's Kidney Pills priced 50 cents and sold by all dealers, Poslar Milburn Co.endorses.
A 20th century advertisement promotes Williams Treatment as a universal remedy for bladder and uric acid related pains. It claims to ease kidney and rheumatic troubles, backache and fatigue, offering a free trial bottle by mail with no obligations. The copy emphasizes rest and strength and warns of no alcohol or habit forming ingredients.
Community social hour featured strawberry ice cream and cake as Cynthia VanHorne hosted guests. Funeral attendance noted for A J Bishop and Mrs John Kelso. Magnolia residents traveled to attend services in Peoria and Washington. The long obituary recalls Mrs Fannie Coe Bishop, detailing family, illness, faith, and the hope of heaven.
