The Princeton Tigers beat the M.P. Farm Bureau 2 to 0 at Hall's Pastime Park in Lacon before about 200 fans. Kressner allowed seven hits while Halbleib struck out two. costly errors in the first inning produced both Tiger tallies. Glenn was the sole Farm Bureau batter to reach safely, with other innings featuring strong Tigers defense and a surprising Mosquito obstacle as a local feature.

At the sixth weekly club calf sale by the International Live Stock Export at Chicago Union Stock Yards on September 14 Wilson & Co. paid 14.50 per cwt for a 970 pound Shorthorn raised by Joe Bumgarner of McNabb, top of the season. Mrs. John Newport an aunt of Mesdames G E Travis and J Allen Smith died at the family home in Fairfield township Missouri on September 5 after a year of illness. Eunice White born May 1 1837 in Bureau County was 89. She married John Newport April 5 1855 and moved with 13 children to Putnam County then Carroll County Missouri. Survived by 44 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. husband died nine years earlier. Funeral held Tuesday afternoon September 7.
