Putnam Fire Destroys Williams Warehouse and Nearby Homes
Early Monday a blaze at Putnam damaged the J. M. Williams warehouse the Williams storehouse and Mrs. Melissa Conkey residence along with several outbuildings and farm machinery. The fire began in the Williams structure and spread destroying three automobiles and various household items while fought by Henry Bu reau and Princeton departments. Losses are partly uninsured according to The News Republic an.

Move Loading Plant to Camp Grove on Route 90 Progress
Construction of Route 90 is advancing rapidly with crews laying a thousand feet daily. Paving reaches the Senachwine bridge in front of the W. S. In cooperation with the University of Illinois the Marshall Putnam Bureau held three demonstrations of simple water system installations for farm homes. A mobile exhibit toured LaRose and La Prairie drawing numerous farmers seeking guidance. At the Fred Kessler home near McNabb a septic tank was installed and displayed to about 30 onlookers. Earl G. Johnson from the university assisted in the demonstrations.
