Minnie Jones Dies After Illness in Henry Illinois
Minnie Miller Jones died at her Henry home after several months of illness. Born December 21, 1860 in Peru Illinois, she later lived in Bradford before returning to Henry in 1920. General services were held at the Episcopal Church of Tiskilwa with burial in Henry City cemetery. Pallbearers named Oscar Davis Marshall Broaddus Alden Hunter Co. O. Duke Charles Bourdette and William Siewers.

Strawn visits Ardmore guests amid politics and corn talk
Mr and Mrs George W Strawn of Ardmore Oklahoma are guests of Mr and Mrs Charles Bourdette of Henry. They will stay until after September 20 for the Strawn reunion at the Lacon Country Club. Strawn, Republican nominee for State Senator from Ardmore district, predicts a tough race in a Democratic stronghold. He is an oil producer who with a partner owns 17 producing wells in Ardmore area. He highlights the oil producers association led by Wirt Franklin and Gov Landon of Kansas as supportive of tariffs to protect home markets. Strawn notes Governor Landon’s popularity among oil workers in Kansas Oklahoma Texas and beyond. He cites Marshall and nearby Illinois counties as corn producing leaders, saying Oklahoma had good wheat and oats but poor corn this year, the best corn prospects in the region are Marshall county and adjacent Illinois areas.
