Funeral services for Mrs Allan Anderson of Streator were held at 2 PM Saturday September 3 from the Elias funeral home. Rev A M Willey officiated. Burial was in Riverview cemetery. She died September 1 at St Luke’s hospital Chicago after a two month illness. City of Henry Negotiating Buy of Lock Property Progress
City attorney John Wasik told the Henry city council on Tuesday negotiations for purchasing 3.9 acres of land north of the river bridge from the federal government are ongoing. The deal, authorized weeks ago, values the land at about 300 and includes roughly half of the lock pond but excludes the lock walls and adjacent areas owned by Illinois and leased to private individuals. The Peoria Producers Commission Association held its 15th weekly lamb pool with 556 lambs from 15 counties across four consignments last Wednesday. Lamb classes sold at varied rates per cwt: 80 blue at 22.00, 226 red at 20.00, 123 yellow at 17.35, 100 green at 15.00, and 27 double green at 13.00.
