Joint Teachers Institute Draws Large Attendees in Henry City
Bright skies and ideal temperatures welcomed a large turnout of teachers from Marshall and Putnam counties for a three day joint Teachers Institute at Henry High School. About 330 Putnam and 154 Marshall teachers enrolled with 80 additional Marshall teachers attending. The program featured daily lectures by W Whitten of the State High School Athletic Association and topics across primary to geography. A concluding ball game saw Putnam defeat Marshall 6 to 3. County superintendents W E King and Thomas Kennedy praised the event as a valuable effort to share teaching insights between counties.
