Mrs Susan L Clift longtime Henry resident died at her home early Thursday after a prolonged illness. She was 81 years 8 months and 11 days old. Funeral set for Saturday at 2 30 PM at the Methodist Episcopal church with Rev Johnson officiating. Interment in the Tiger Love order of Eastern Star will conduct rites at the grave. The first case of sleeping sickness in the area appeared in Sheffield last Saturday night. Miss Alyce Hubbard daughter of Mr and Mrs John Hubbard developed the illness and was treated at Kewanee hospital before returning home. Dr Giltner and Dr McShane will investigate with the state health department. The patient is in a critical semi conscious state and suffers severe head pains. She is known as a Hubbard Sister whose entertainment songs draw radio and public appearances.

City council expects to install a toll of about 5 cents per car on the Henry ferry within weeks to cover maintenance costs. Greys Wallop Old-Timers In Annual Tilt
The Greys defeated the Old-Timers 9 to 4 at the fairgrounds, in a rain-tinged Sunday game that drew scattered attendance. Green pitched well for the Greys, holding the Old-Timers to three hits while the youngsters amassed 11 hits. Princeton Man Attends Fair 64 Straight Years
Jacob Obermeyer of 11 North Main Street Princeton set a record by attending the secretary's office at the Princeton fairgrounds last week Tuesday and purchasing a season ticket for the sixty fourth consecutive year. He recalled buying his first ticket as a ten year old boy in a new suit.

Mary Alice Hartenbower Kays died at home near Magnolia September 1 after a long illness. Funeral services were held September 8 at the Henry home with Rev. C. T. Oscar Schacht of Bloomington officiating. Interment followed in Henry City cemetery. Survivors include five children Victor C. of Jonesboro Arkansas Dona J. of Columbus Ohio Albert R. of Kewanee Ill Mark E. of Magnolia and Lora G. Pomerene of Coshocton Ohio. One daughter Lois Lavonne died in 1884. One sister and three brothers survive. Mrs Kays lived in the community for years and was a devoted member of the Presbyterian church in Henry.

Mrs. Alice Wabel died Monday afternoon at her daughter Mrs Theodore Rinehart’s home in Senachwine township. Funeral services will be held today at the Presbyterian church in Henry with Rev. Roger F. Cressey officiating. Interment will be in Henry City cemetery. She had been ill for a long time and was a widely known Henry resident.
