The Rev. Cressey, former pastor of Henry Presbyterian Church and pastor at Erie and Jacksonville, died August 30 1945 in Memorial hospital Springfield Indiana at 6 30 pm after a two week illness. Born February 20 1866 near Collinsville, he married Emma Goalby in 1888. He studied at Blackburn College and McCormick Theological Seminary, serving in Illinois and western Pennsylvania. Funeral at Fourth Presbyterian Church Springfield followed by burial in Troy. Survived by daughter Lucretia Cressey, sister Miss Bertine Sey, brothers Edgar and Wilbert Cressey, and many nieces and nephews.

Williams among 45 veterans discharged at Fort Sheridan
James E. Williams son of Mrs Madelie Williams of Henry County was among 45 veterans discharged at the Fort Sheridan separation center on Thursday August 30. Williams who served four and a half years in the army joined the corps and trained as an aerial engineer.
