Death of David W Harris Son of Former MP Farm Adviser
David W Harris aged 34 died Thursday at McDonough District Hospital Macomb from a heart ailment. Funeral services were held Saturday at Dodsworth Piper Wallen funeral home conducted by Rev Richard Newhall. He was born May 1951 in Itor ia a son of Andrew and Lucille Holmes Harris. He moved to Macomb in 1981 and was a member of the Methodist church and its chapel choir. Survived by his parents a sister Jeanna Harris and grandparents Albert Harns and Frank Helmes. Donations to the Heart Fund suggested in lieu of flowers.

L. L. Scaggs Laid To Rest In Putnam Tuesday Rites
Funeral services for Lewis L. Scaggs a longtime Putnam area farmer were held Tuesday at the Putnam Christian church with Rev. James Avery officiating. Interment followed in Putnam cemetery. Scaggs born November 1885 in Morehead Kentucky died August 31 at his home in Henry. He and Agnes Mae Finley married in 1909 and had four children Marjorie Lane Arthur Lynn and Kenneth. He was a deacon elder and loyal member of the Putnam church and left many survivors including four children seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

At noon today Principal P Dardano reports total enrollment of the Henry community consolidated grade school as 431. Grade by grade counts include Kindergarten 54 First 53 Second 48 Third 47 Fourth 47 Fifth 40 Sixth 47 Seventh 43 Eighth 51. Two teachers serve each grade except Kindergarten, which runs two half day sessions.

Old Settlers Day in Lacon Draws Crowds and Festivities
Lacon hosts the Marshall County Old Settlers Day with parades at 2 pm on Fifth Street, water fights, sky divers, antique cars, art shows, and concerts.
