Mrs Marsha ll H Broaddus Dies In Henry Home
Mrs Marshall H Broaddus died Friday evening August 26 at her daughter Mrs J L Jones in Henry. She was the youngest daughter of Elizabeth Glenn and Young Glenn of the Oxbow Putnam County born February 40 1845. She married Marshall H Broaddus December 8 1887 and lived on the old Broaddus homestead where their daughter Elizabeth now Mrs J L Jones was born. Interment was in Henry city cemetery.

Attendance At Picnic Draws Near 100 Percent Of Picnickers
At the Marshall Putnam annual farm bureau picnic held Tuesday at John Swaney school grounds nearly all picnickers attended. Weather was perfect and the crowd praised the event with Gus Gillard the standout as the world's funniest clown entertaining both young and old. Field events drew strong turnout with winners in rolling pin throwing and 50 yard dashes noted for various age groups and farm bureau members. The suitcase race and watermelon eating contest also produced winners. the crowd counted in the thousands with estimates from 7,000 to 14,000. To be continued next week.

Youngest Daughter of Van Horne Dies in Putnam County
The youngest child of John and Mary Van Horne born on a farm east of Magnolia in 1841 died February 25 1927 in Mas$scope city. After early education in local schools she studied music at Bloomington and taught music until illness. She suffered a paralytic stroke on Sunday and died Thursday at 2 40 pm. A Christian Science adherent, funeral held from the home with burial in Magnolia cemetery. Relatives include fourteen nieces and nephews and many neighbors.
