Mallard Chevrolet will unveil the 1958 line tomorrow featuring two new styling and engineering advances. The lineup includes Bel Air Impala Biscayne Delray and station wagon series with revised bodies longer lower wider lines, X-shaped frame, dual headlamps, and improved suspension for smoother ride and sharper handling.
In Inville Hart spoke at the Amert on Hall Monday evening addressing the Wo P gear topic. Members of the community attended and were served dinner as the gathering aimed to connect the faculty school board and Hopkins families.
Chevrolet division reveals October display of 1958 passenger cars and four new truck lines. Details include front end styling, dual headlamps, and grille updates, with 12 new models and weight-classed cab chassis. Engine options include large V8s, and production will expand to three forward control models.

Freshman initiation took place Thursday evening in the school cafeteria. Senior girls organized the event, dressing freshmen in humorous costumes and arranging amusing sketches. Refreshments were served after the activities.
An all school assembly took place during the third period in the en pym. A film titled Parliamentary Procedure was shown. Afterward the classes returned to their regular meeting places to conduct a mock meeting using proper parliamentary procedure.
Ten girls from Howkings GAA attended a GAA Play Day at Hall High School on Saturday October 26 featuring relays swimming skating and lunch served by GAA. GAA officers met at sponsor Mrs Krech’s home after school to plan a Sadie Hawkins event on November 8. Tuberculin skin tests given to freshmen seniors and cafeteria workers by Dr C V Hartman with Dr A O Bergerson assisted. four positives found upon recheck by Mrs. Emma Smart-Fharnley.
Wenona reports progress in urban upgrades with a color corrected mercury vapor 400 watt lamp on Chestnut Street and four on First South Street lighting main blocks. Six new lights on Chestnut and four on First South stand 31 feet high awaiting police lights on corner posts. A new city well pump arrives and installation planned under Mayor Andrew Bishop supervision after wiring work.
Promoting new 1958 Dodge line with Swept Wing styling and Ram Fire V eight engine. Highlighted features include Sure Grip differential, dual headlights, stainless grille, new interior colors, Constant Control steering, Power-Flyte and Torque-Fit transmissions, and Life-Guard door latches. Plymouth adds redesigned grille and softer color options.
Plymouth introduces 1958 models on Friday November 1 at Kieln Motor Co. with bold styling, new Silver Dart side moulding, Belvedere and Sport Suburban fins, dual headlights, revised turn signals and parking lights, and a broader engine options lineup for enhanced visibility and lighting features.
The Post Office will issue the 3 cent Whooping Crane stamp, the fourth in the Wildlife Conservation series, at Carnes Christi Texas and New York New York post offices on November 22 1957. The stamp shows a female whooping crane with two young, while the male guards. Corpus Christi Texas and New York NY will issue First Day Covers.
Relatives and friends are thanked for visits gifts cards and well wishes as they shorten a hospital stay. Elmer and Tena Deck extend gratitude to Francis Pattan Rose Illings and others who offered support during the illness.
A Woman's Missions Society special meeting of the First Lutheran church was held last Thursday at Lutherhall at 7 2 pm. Devotions were given by Mrs P Y Floyd Austin and the program What is goer Missions was presented by Mrs Nets Holmstrom and Miss Minnie Holmstrom. A piano solo by Miss Suzanne Henry and a vocal Spirit of God sung by Bonnie Anderson were part of the program. Refreshments were served by the social committee. Sunday dinner guests included Mr and Mrs Gordon Hultgren and family, Mrs Anna Olson, Mr and Mrs James Robey, Mr and Mrs Fred Stratton, Mrs Baby Brownh, Mr and Mrs Roy Holmstrom Flanagan, Mr and Mrs Harold Carlson, Mr and Mrs Elof Nylin, Mr and Mrs Guat Carlson.
