Mrs. Johanna Lovisa Peterson of Varna died Friday November 6 1925 at 3 25 am at her home in Varna Sweden born January 1 1836 in Ostergotland Sweden came to America Aug 15 1891 with Frans Peterson and lived in Marshall county Then in Varna She is survived by three daughters two in Sweden one Aug Bjork in Rockford and two step children Carl and Albert Munson Five grandchildren and three great grandchildren The funeral was held Nov 8 at the residence and First Lutheran church with Rev Karl A Nilsson officiating interment in the Swedish cemetery Casket bearers included Ponto Carlson August Ekstrom John Hylin Constant Frederickson Charles Munson Gust Johnson

Escapee Carl Lundberg Dies in Lacon County Jail
Carl Lundberg, an escaped inmate from Watertown Insane Hospital, was picked up in Sparland and taken to Lacon for safekeeping. He fell ill en route, received medical care, and died Tuesday morning at the county jail after a doctor was called. He was about 45 to 50, with no known immediate relatives in Lacon, and burial is expected in Potters field at Lacon cemetery.
