Henry seeks possible Henry power plant site by Commonwealth Edison
Commonwealth Edison eyes a non nuclear plant in northern Hindis area north of Henry. Officials Frank Cortese and E R Carter visited May 11 and 18 19 to contact landowners and assess options on 2500 to 3000 acres from Route 29 to the river. Decisions depend on further studies with no immediate plans and at least five years before construction if chosen.

Mr. L. T. Schubert Assistant Regional Superintendent of Schools Marshall and Putnam Counties will retire August 4 1976 after 39 years as teacher coach junior high principal unit superintendent and regional superintendent. Mr Anderson Regional Superintendent hopes to name a replacement soon.

Henry Legion Plans Memorial Day Parade and Services
Commander Lee Hofer announced the Memorial Day Parade will start 10:00 a.m. May 31 1976 at the Legion Building and proceed to the bridge for services then return for disbanding and travel to City Cemetery for further services. A 7:00 a.m. Memorial Day breakfast at the Legion Building welcomes all area veterans.

County Reels Through Grade School Referendum Questions
The Marshall County sheriff reports Henry Grade School questions clarifying a proposed Education Fund tax raise. Funds show a current debt of about 127000 with a 92 cent tax rate, proposed 1.37 to yield 344498.78 locally and 33000 more state aid, while salaries remain the largest expense for 654 students. Henry Grade School Board asks continued support as cuts are studied. Ford J. Conley becomes Marshall County deputy sheriff, replacing Ronald Berg and starting May 20 after approval May 19.

Knee Surgery Follows Fall at Watercott's Corner
Mrs. William Linderer fell at Watercott's Corner Saturday morning and was taken by ambulance to People's Hospital in Peru where she underwent surgery on Monday. Mr. Linderer waited in Murphy's Market parking lot as the accident occurred.
